English Green valley Public school, Thane     School is a place where a child experience his first interaction with the outside world. School education has prime importance for the all round development of children. Parents send their wards to school to become a civilized person. Without education man is by no means superior to a brute. There will always persist an undercurrent of violence and disregard for social institutions if man is not educated in real sense. It is education, not the degree that can bring about a change in our quality of life. Education affect our thoughts process and leads us into the right direction. A student’s future depends not only on education but also on quality of education. No development can be thought without knowledge and education. If we talk about today’s way of imparting knowledge among students it has been become very out dated. Excessive work loads have made it very hard for the students. There are exams at regular intervals which make life all the more miserable for the children. As a result student’s interest in studies starts reducing day by day which affects their performance in long time. Today what is needed i.e. The quality of education. How we can improve the quality of education in schools? This question always remains in the mind of teachers. Head of the schools, government, N.G.O’s  and educationist. They always try to find out the answer of above question. There are no magic wands that can instantly solve the problems. But it will not be very difficult for people or government to implement some useful steps. At present in schools. Teachers give stress only on book based knowledge. Students do not have any kind of practical knowledge. They only cram the things. The present situation of students point out that majority of students in V standard are not able to solve questions supposed to be solved by class II. The reason behind this problem is Only that today’s teachers and parents stress only to complete their curriculum. They do not care about the mental level of child. In today schools teachers do not give basic knowledge. They only want to finish their syllabus at fixed given time. It is not that there are no deserving teachers. Some of them have always remained and will sincere and hard working in the future also but they are usually not rewarded for their honesty and dedication. So the solution  to improve is that those teachers should be recruited who have dedication for their work. If a teacher give stress on project based learning  and he / she is sincere and hard working he can change the students He / she can take the students beyond, the text books to study complex topic on real world issues. The most important role for teachers is to coach and guide students through learning process, giving special attention to nurturing a student’s interest and self confidence. By adopting new ways of technology we can improve almost every aspect of school, modernizing the nature of curriculum, students assignments, parents connection and administration. By reducing curriculum and adding practical / Project work, quality of education can be improved. School should build strong communication with parents and welcome their active participation in the class room. Value education should be a part of the curriculum. By adopting different play way teaching methods we can improve the under standing power of students and can improve the quality of education. Today’s school curriculum is too much academic. It is not practical or job oriented. Vocational training should be made a part of the school curriculum. Vocational training centers in schools can act as feeders for the corporate world. The present state the school is that we classify the students according to their age group. But if we want to really improve the quality of education we have to impart the knowledge according to the mental level of the students. If after the primary classes in our schools we give option to our children to choose their subjects according to their interest then it will also help to improve the quality of education because students will read their subjects with interest and adopt good level of knowledge and by this our schools will be able to give excellent quality of students and in future they can make good doctors, teachers, engineers, teachers etc. By some changing in evaluation methods we can also improve the quality of education. E.g. by organize quiz competitions, Group discussions etc. by the help of these we can motivate our students for learning. Only written test is not the complete evaluation.
